Tesla has successfully convinced the masses that EVs can be powerful performers when they launched the Model S P100D with Ludicrous Mode. The latter can basically complete a quarter-mile challenge in under 10 seconds without any modifications and only few can rival its performance.
But then again, straight-line performance is the only thing which Tesla can brag about as they have yet to have a vehicle that can do well around a proper track. This looks to be a field which Tesla is now hoping to conquer and they plan to do so with the next-gen Roadster.
The signs were clear when Tesla announced last week that the Model 3 will soon feature a Track Mode. In this mode, the car will loosen stability control parameters for the bends and the turns. It will be the first time for Tesla to offer such a feature and we can expect the data gathered on the Model 3 with Track Mode to help improve the upcoming Tesla Roadster.
The best part about it is that a good Track Mode function can turn the Roadster into a monster on the track and this can help Tesla compete closely with the upcoming Porsche Taycan.
