50 Cent took his son Sire on a holiday shopping spree Friday in Paramus.
E! reports that the rapper, actor and mogul born Curtis Jackson spent $100,000 to rent the Toys R Us at Westfield Garden State Plaza for a few hours with just days remaining in the holiday shopping season.
Sire, 7, had his pick of toys. A design on the floor featured a likeness of the boy, announcing that it had become “Sire’s Toys R Us.”
“When I asked my Dad for the ‘WHOLE Toys R Us Store’ for Christmas I didn’t think he would actually do it, but he did,” reads a post from Sire’s Instagram account, which captioned a photo showing the father-son pair with store mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe. “Thank you Daddy! Best Christmas Ever!”
Sire’s haul included some Lego sets, a Nerf blaster and a stuffed Geoffrey.
Sire and Jackson, 44, can be seen entering the store through a curtain in a video posted to Sire’s Instagram account, which is managed by his mother, Daphne Joy, an actress, model and fashion designer who is Jackson’s ex-girlfriend.
“Christmas came early for Sire lol,” Joy, 32, said in her Instagram story.
“Daddy got Sire all the Legos but not just all the Legos, all of Toys R Us,” she said. “And what do you say to Daddy? Say, ‘I love you!’ Sire’s in utter shock right now and disbelief.”
The Paramus Toys R Us location, which opened in November, is one of just two in the country that have opened with a new owner — Tru Kids Brands — since the original Toys R Us, based in Wayne, closed all stores last year. The second store opened this month at The Galleria in Houston, Texas.
This past spring, Jackson, who released his debut album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” in 2003, sold his 50,000-square-foot, more than 50-room mansion in Farmington, Connecticut for $2.9 million.
He filed for chapter 11 reorganization in 2015, and his bankruptcy case was discharged in 2017 after he paid off more than $22 million in debt.
Earlier this week, Jackson was seen at the Jersey City Motor Vehicle Commission. His other son, Marquise, with ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins, is 22.
