Next Tesla Roadster: One Foot On Flying Car Future!

One of the highlights of 2018 is with the announcement of the next-gen Tesla Roadster and this is due to the car promising an insane performance on the straight line.

A preview sheet for the future Roadster has confirmed that the car will be able to hit 60mph from stop in 1.9 seconds. If that is not exciting enough, Tesla has also said that the numbers are the minimum requirement for the Roadster, which means that the car can go faster than indicated.

Tesla explained that the SpaceX program will play a role in fine-tuning the Roadster and this will see the use of rocket thrusters with the vehicle. With such a setup, the Roadster can definitely achieve greater speed than what has been indicated on the preview sheet.

But in our eyes, the use of rocket thrusters suggests on a different goal with the Roadster – flying cars. Think about it. The technology has been used for aviation and flight purposes. It’s application on the Roadster may establish a foundation of flying cars.

We can expect SpaceX to work towards this goal like how Tesla has utilized cruise control mechanism to achieve basic level of autonomy.
