It’s fairly hard to be surprised by a new car these days but there are some that come along that do just that.
Tesla Roadster was the last, massively surprising car when it launched at the Semi event boasting range unheard of in a current electric car and a record-beating 0-60mph time.
The electric car, if it can produce those specs at launch, will be a new benchmark for not just electric cars but among combustion engined cars.
There is now, however, another potential mind-blowing electric hypercar on the horizon in the form of the Alieno Arcanum.
You’ve probably never heard of Alieno and we haven't either but the small Bulgarian car firm is said to have formed in 2015 and gets its name from the Italian word “alieno” which means alien.
The start-up is said to be building an all-electric two-door, two-seat “robotic” hypercar with “alien technologies from the future.”
Four variants of the car are said to be being built starting at the base model with 2,610bhp followed by the 3,8482bhp, 4,351 bhp, and the range-topping 5,221bhp.
The carmaker has not, however, revealed how fast the car will accelerate but on its website, it claims the flagship will have 8,880Nm of torque and be able to travel over 303mph.
Alieno added that, depending on the variant, each wheel could feature up to six electric motors per wheel, meaning the top of the range model could have up to 24 electric motors.
Each version will also be offered in one of three specifications - STR (Street), TRC(Track) and RCE (Race).
Battery packs will range in size between 60-kWh and 180-kWh with the top model offering up to 634-miles of range on a single charge.
Ahmed Merchev, founder, CEO & CTO of ALIENO and chief constructor of ARCANUM, shares: "ALIENO ARCANUM is an all-electric hypercar from the future with a brutal technical superiority, which is in the basis of the DNA of the brand ALIENO.
“This our first debut model, expresses clearly the mission of ALIENO to create hypercars with alien technologies from the future into the present.
“ALIENO ARCANUM does not follow the rules, but it creates new ones, providing an extremely exciting driving experience and enjoyment. By this, it touches not only the senses, but also your soul.
“Moreover, considering the intelligence of the car achieved through the ALIENO artificial intelligence systems built into it, it is like having at disposal your own alien, being your guide, your guardian and who teaches you how to reach its full potential, while driving it."
The car claims to come with all sorts of other technology and features on top of the fairly ludicrous power.
It also looks like the birth child of someone fusing a Lamborghini Aventador with the Batmobile.
Prices are expected to stat at €750,000 up to €1.5million.
Whether or not the car will actually enter production or not or if you will never hear about the company again is all subject to debate, because many start-ups often claim the world in terms of specs and fail to deliver.
Let’s hope Alieno bucks that trend.
